Each of our pilots have received their Commercial Pilot Rating. In addition to this, Hummingbyrd pilots average over 2000 hours of flying experience.
2Training
Our flight and maintenance departments regularly attend recurrent training programs offered by industry experts.
3Maintenance
Our Bell 206 helicopters are meticulously maintained daily by our team of full-time engineers and maintenance technicians to FAA Part 135 standards.
4Aircraft
Our Fleet at Hummingbyrd consists of turbine-engine Bell 206 aircraft. These aircraft can accommodate up to six passengers in addition to the pilot.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are your hours of operation?
We operate Friday through Sunday from 6pm to 10pm. If you would like to fly outside of these days and hours, please email us at info@flyhummingbyrd.com for additional availability.
Are there any age restrictions?
For our by the seat tours, there are no age restrictions. Please note, if you are under the age of 18, you will need your parent or guardian to sign a consent form.
Children under the age of 2 may fly as a lap child. All children 2 years and older must purchase a seat in order to fly.
Everyone who flies must demonstrate that they are able to physically adhere to our safety instructions.
What is the cancellation policy?
Flights are non-refundable. Scheduling changes can be made up to 48 hours before departure time but will incur a $25/passenger fee – changes made within 48 hours will incur a $50/passenger fee. If you need to reschedule or are unable to fly due to weather conditions, vouchers will be issued which are redeemable for up to 12 months. Flight vouchers can be transferred to another person if you so choose.
Weather Insurance can be purchased for 10% of the cost of your reservation and entitles you to a full refund less the 10% if the flight is canceled due to the weather. Weather insurance does not entitle you to a refund in the event of any governmental regulation impacting our ability to fly.
Are there any weight restrictions?
Yes, as per the manufacturer’s guidelines, passengers who exceed 350 pounds will be unable to fly. Due to weight & balance, any passenger over 310 pounds inclusive of all gear brought aboard the helicopter will be required to purchase a 2nd seat.

What do you do if the weather is bad?
At Hummingbyrd, safety is paramount. If the weather on the day of your flight is questionable, we will make a Go or No Go call four (4) hours prior to scheduled departure time. Please check your email frequently for updates on the day of your flight and make sure to provide a day of contact number on your order.
When do I need to arrive at the helicopter for my flight?
Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. For example, if your flight is scheduled at 6pm, you need to arrive to our location by 5:30.
